Two clocks, different jobs
Section titled “Two clocks, different jobs”The roleplay date says when the story takes place. The posting schedule says when Weatherly should advance that date and publish in the real world.
Changing the timezone changes the schedule’s time reference. It is not a way to choose the current fictional date.
Set the schedule
Section titled “Set the schedule”In the dashboard’s calendar settings, review the timezone, local posting time, advancement interval, and next-run timestamp.
Use a named timezone such as America/Chicago so the schedule can follow local daylight-saving changes. If a post arrives an hour earlier or later than expected, check the configured timezone and next-run time first.
Advance, pause, and resume
Section titled “Advance, pause, and resume”Use the dashboard’s advancement control when you want to move the calendar forward manually.
Pause stops the world from advancing on its normal schedule. Resume allows it to run again. Check the next-run timestamp after changing the schedule or resuming a world.
Custom calendars
Section titled “Custom calendars”Plus adds custom fantasy calendars, including month lengths, weekday names, and eras. Use the calendar editor to configure the dates for your setting.
Leap days and festival days
Section titled “Leap days and festival days”Under the month list, set Leap day every how many years, the month that gains the extra day (typed exactly as it appears in your month list), and how many extra days it gains. To model a festival that only appears in some years, give it its own month. For the Calendar of Harptos, make Midsummer a 1-day month and add one leap day to it every 4 years: Shieldmeet is then the second day of Midsummer in leap years.
Editing a custom calendar
Section titled “Editing a custom calendar”You do not need to replace the calendar. The editor opens with your current months, weekdays, eras, and leap rule already filled in. Change what you need, use Preview conversion to check today’s date, then choose Save calendar changes. Your roleplay day number, weather history, and schedule are kept. Dates are recalculated from the new month lengths, so changing month lengths can change which month and day a stored roleplay day falls on.
A roleplay day number is a position in the world’s timeline. It is different from the day of the month; use the dashboard’s date fields and help text when editing a date.
Subscribe from your own calendar app (Atlas)
Section titled “Subscribe from your own calendar app (Atlas)”Under Calendar link in the dashboard, create a link and add it to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook as a subscribed calendar. Your upcoming roleplay events then appear alongside everything else in your life. Events that have already passed are left out.
The link is shown only once, when you create it. Anyone who has it can read your upcoming events, so share it with care. Replace link gives you a new one and stops the old one working, and Turn off link removes it. If your server stops having Atlas, the link stops working until Atlas returns.
Calendar messages
Section titled “Calendar messages”A feed can include calendar information alongside weather. Configure its content in Feeds. The current /calendar command also displays the world’s current calendar information in Discord.
